What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

What we Believe

The following are the Biblical beliefs of Acts 2 based on the Holy Scriptures. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

Yahweh the great "I am."
-  Exodus 3:14; 34:5

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
- Matthew 28:19

He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  mercy and just.
- Exodus 34:6&7; 1 John 4:8,16; John 3:16; Deuteronomy 6:5

He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
- Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy Scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
- Colossians 1:15

Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and He is the only way to God the Father.
- 1 Timothy 1:15; John 14:6

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit was sent by God in the name of Jesus to us to teach us and lead us into all truth.
- John 14:26; John 16:7-11

Bible

The scriptures have been given to us by God through men who did not speak on their own behalf but by the Spirit of God.
Hebrews 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Acts 4:12; John 14:6; Titus 3:5; Eph 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:12; Romans 12:5

Baptism

The public display of your faith as commanded in scripture representing your commitment to follow Jesus.
1 Peter 3:21&22; Mark 16:16; Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:1-14
